FAQ’s

How do I know if I need council approval or not? And what's the process?

There are a handful of requirements to meet that would determine if you can build your job without council approval which we can assist with over the phone. If you decide that you want to put in an application for your job Creative Home Improvements can handle everything for you. The process starts with accepting your quote and performing a check measure where we will gather accurate measurements and colours for your job, clear up any questions and explain everything with the owner. From there a deposit is arranged and then on your behalf, engage a draftsman to design the plans to submit to council. During the application depending on your location they can ask you for bushfire reports, boundary reports and in some cases engineering reports. After council have everything they need the jobs approved and we can begin. During the job sometimes inspections need to take place regarding footings and any structural fixings to the house which is always arranged by Luke. A council application is a complete non profit procedure for Creative Home Improvements, all bills and fees are passed onto the client so the developers/home owners don’t pay any more than required.

What's Creative Home Improvements warranty, licensing and insurances?

Here at Creative we are fully licensed for the industry. We carry a special license “Erection of prefabricated metal structures and home additions” you can check our licence on ASICS website the number is 343590C.

Our warranty is for 6 years to meet building code of Australia however the products we use carry their own warranty of up to 25 years. We use only the highest quality Australian products on our jobs.

We are fully insured from public liability to home warranty insurances. Home warranty insurance is required for any job that exceeds $20,000 during the build. This covers the builder and home owner for any damages and problems that may occur during the build. After the jobs complete the home warranty insurance is completed also.

What do you do for payment?

Generally if a quote is accepted we will arrange for a deposit to be placed. All payments can be taken by cheque, cash, or electronic transfer.

Large jobs generally have progress payments that are arranged and agreed upon with the client. All small jobs are balance on completion.

What's the turn around time?
